How to Store, Transport & Serve Your Custom Cake
A beautiful cake deserves to arrive and serve at its best. A few simple things make all the difference, and for tiered cakes, delivery does the worrying for you.
Storing your cake
Keep the cake cool and out of direct sun. Buttercream cakes serve best at a cool room temperature; refrigerate for longer holds and let it come back toward room temperature before serving, so the flavor and texture are at their best.
Transporting it safely
A flat surface, the level floor of the car, and gentle stops. For tiered or delicate cakes, white-glove delivery is the safe choice, and for weddings and large events it is part of the commission.
Serving
A clean, warm knife gives the cleanest slices. For sizing and slice counts, see the serving size guide.
White-glove delivery
We hand-deliver in climate-controlled transport and set tiered cakes on site across Northern Virginia, so the cake arrives exactly as designed.
